No sunrise or sunset is the same, thank you God.

I threw my lure and caught a passing seagull; that bird almost poked my eyes out before she was freed; but she was freed.  She was there first.

A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work.

Ninety percent of the fish are caught in the first ten seconds the hook hits the water.

Run your fingers over your fishing line 3 to 4 feet from the hook periodically, you will be glad you did.

Your anchor rope will always be messed up and in knots when you need it the most.

When my best fishing buddy and I go fishing together, we hardly speak to each other.

A passing boat came way to close to me and violated my fishing spot, I was furious, I wanted to throw my heaviest lure at them, I wanted to chase them down, I chose to do neither.

Many times I catch my most fish in the worst weather conditions.

When I was 13, my Dad use to take me trotline fishing on the Lake O’ Pines in Deep East Texas and one night we caught a 30 lb and a 31 lb catfish on 2 hooks side by side.  Then next night we caught a 24 lb catfish and another of our huge hooks was straightened by one that got away.  My Dad said that was “Cosmo”.  When we got home I wrote my Dad a poem as a tribute to him and to “Cosmo”, the one that got away.  It goes like this:

Cosmo is his name
Robbing hooks is his game
The bait must be just alive
Or he will take another dive
He’s outsmarted many a fisherman
But I won’t quit ‘till he is in the frying pan

Ever notice how many people take their dog fishing?  I have never seen anyone that took their cat.

Never pee in your waders unless you borrowed them from the guy who is bragging about out fishing you.

You will always get a bite when digging out a backlash.

You should have been with us yesterday.

Help beginners.

You can’t catch fish with the motor running.

Have boat will travel.

Never loan a rod that you can’t live with coming back shorter or in two pieces.

Take time to listen to those older than you.
